Andrea started her yoga journey in 2005. She had been searching for something to help her heal from the inside out. Andrea worked with weights, took spin class, jogging, and boxing, but she was still searching. After her first yoga class at a gym, she was hooked. When she found Divine Yoga Center, she took every class possible. The feeling after each practice was amazing. She had never felt like that before with any other exercise. Through yoga, Andrea has learned to live her life to the fullest. She loved yoga so much that she was inspired to become an instructor.
In January 2008, she began her 200-hour teacher training through Purple Lotus, under the mentorship of Maggie Metzinger. She graduated in June 2008. Andrea is blessed, humbled, and honored to do such a service as teaching yoga. She has had the privilege of working/studying with many gifted teachers, including Shakta Kaur Khalsa, Karen O'Donnell Clarke, Keith Kachtick, Susi Hately Aldous, Kendall Inman, Blair Lewis, Kelly Roadhouse, Maggie Metzinger, Shannon Bryant, and Gusti Ratliff.
Andrea's classes are a grounded style of Vinyasa influenced by Hatha, taking the time to feel each pose, using the breath to open the heart and the mind. Remembering that challenging yourself is great, being mindful and aware of yourself is better. Using the breath, mind and body to bring out the healing power that is already within each of us.
