Jana immediately fell in love with yoga and the joy she found from the asanas and meditation the first time she stepped on her mat. Jana is a registered 500HR Yoga Therapy Instructor. She continues to study with wonderful teachers, and she enjoys teaching a variety of classes. She has studied with Rod Stryker, Judith Lasater, Ana Forrest, David Swenson, and many other incredible master teachers. Jana's goal is to share the joy she finds from yoga and help others along as they find themselves on a journey with yoga. She most recently was certified in Primordial Sound Meditation through Deepak Chopra and is currently enrolled in their Ayurveda Perfect Health Teacher Training.

Jana is also a licensed Massage Therapist and Third Level Reiki Practitioner. She has studied Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Cranial Sacral Therapy and Lymphatic Drainage Therapy and Thai Yoga Massage. Jana enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, her friends and family and two dogs, Max and Milly.

Julie Parsons began teaching hatha yoga after completing her first 200 hr program at The Yoga and Movement Center in Walnut Creek, Ca in 2005. Her 200hr training also included a 6 month apprenticeship with Diane Valentine and other California Bay Area teachers. Next she added 150 hours of training and assisting with Judith Hanson Lasater in Restorative yoga making her an Advanced Trainer in Relax and Renew Restorative Yoga. After moving back to Texas in 2006, Julie began teaching at Divine Center of Yoga in Southlake, Tx and then 3 years later in 2009 became co-owner of the studio. While teaching and operating the studio she completed her 500 RYT certification from Purple Lotus in McKinney, Tx, certified in Pink Ribbon Recuperative Yoga with Amy Garrett and Julie Byrd, certified Reiki 2 master, certified in Primordial Sound Meditation through Deepak Chopra, and currently enrolled in Ayurveda Prefect Health teacher training through The Chopra Center.
Douglas Alberts, RYT

The path that brought Douglas to Yoga began with those questions which everyone has about the need to understand their life and purpose. Reading Paramahansa Yogananda's “Autobiography of a Yogi” in the mid 80's led to ventures into the Bhagavad Gita. Questions of mind / body interactions led to a rare invitation to study biofeedback at Larry Dosey's clinic at Medical City Dallas. A later intensive biofeedback workshop at the Menninger Clinic, where he learned of the scientific demonstrations of Swami Rama, pointed to Yoga as an authentic path. While working in New York in 1990 he purchased a Yoga book on Asana and began the first tentative steps of study. Years passed until 2005 and that fateful Yoga class in which all students realize that there is
“something” in Yoga that they have to investigate. Yoga soon became a daily event and the need to deepen his understanding led to completion of a 200 hour RYT certification program in 2009. He has taken workshops with Eric Schiffman, David Romanelli, Dharma Mitra, Judith Lasater, Rod Stryker, Wade Morrissette and Leslie Kaminoff.

Douglas likes to call attention to an increasing body of medical and scientific literature supporting the health benefits of Yoga. At the same time though he likes to point out that Yoga is more than Asana and the benefits seem to stem from following the basics of the old traditional teachings.

Mangala was a performer and teacher of dance and theatre arts. She had discovered the importance of yoga postures and yoga principles for instilling discipline and opening up channels of creativity. When she met Swami Nirmalananda, she learned that yoga was so much more than she ever could have imagined. Through yoga, Mangala’s life has become a beautiful expression of who she has found herself to be. Svaroopa is a Sanskrit word that means the Bliss of your own Being. Her passion is to help others find this bliss and infinite joy in their lives as well.

Mangala is grateful for all she has experienced and all the teachers she has met along the way. She began yoga teacher training in 2006, training intensively in the Svaroopa® Sciences. Under Swami Nirmalananda, originator of Svaroopa® Yoga and Founder and Master Teacher of Master Yoga Foundation and Svaroopa® Vidya Ashram she became an advanced level teacher. Mangala served yoga therapy clients and taught classes and workshops in Roswell, GA at Plum Tree Yoga before moving to Ft Worth, TX. She is honored and delighted to be serving the yoga community at the Divine Center of Yoga.

Aimee Andrews, RYT

Aimee Andrews is a yoga teacher, educator, and counselor. She has a passion and sweetness for helping and has spent most of her adult life working with children and families in school counseling while deepening her knowledge, training and experience in yoga. She believes it takes a combination of mind, body, breath, and spirit to move through challenges and experience transformation to uncover your highest purpose and experience lasting joy. 

Aimee Andrews, B.S., M.Ed., LPC completed her Bachelor's and Master's degree through the University of North Texas.  She has a Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion and Education and a Masters in Counseling. She has worked with all ages and has experience in working with groups. She received her 200-hr training from Shanon Buffington and Ayurveda Lifestyle Counselor training from Arpita Shah with Om Yoga Journey. Her yoga training is heavily influenced by classical Tantra and Hatha yoga in the direct lineage of Yogarupa Rod Stryker, considered to be one of the pre-eminent yoga and meditation teachers in the United States, since 2005.

Yoga has been an important part of my life since 2008. I love yoga simply because it makes me feel good (strong, exhilarated, relaxed, peaceful and happy!) Yoga challenges me to be present, still, patient, humble and most importantly to breathe. It has inspired me to live more mindfully.

In my Vinyasa class, the sequences are meant to be powerful, invigorating and playful. My hope is that you leave feeling strong and refreshed with a sense of the mind-body connection.

Alexandra has been practicing yoga since 2003. Initially, she was drawn to the physical aspect of it to increase her strength and flexibility, but she soon discovered that yoga is more focused on calming the mind, breath awareness, and connecting on a deeper level with yourself and others. Alexandra's life has been transformed in many ways through her yoga journey, and she believes it can be a powerful tool to dig deep within ourselves and uncover our true nature while working towards freedom and happiness. Her dedication to her practice led her to complete her 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification in 2010 as well as Vinyasa Teacher Training with Seane Corn, an internationally celebrated yoga teacher and activist.  She believes that patience, playfulness, and persistence are important parts of practicing yoga. Alexandra strives to be an energetic and passionate teacher so she can creatively teach others how to physically and mentally become stronger and heal through yoga poses and philosophy.

I had no idea when I walked into my first yoga class that I was searching for something so much more than a different form of exercise. When I left I felt as if my soul had been fed, and my mind and body had awaken to one another, as if they had met for the first time.

Nine years later, through my practice and teacher training I found something (yoga) that put into words and actions my beliefs and everything I was trying to express as an individual.

After completing my 200hr through Purple Lotus, as an instructor I find myself striving to give that experience and sense of self knowledge and awareness; that I discovered, back to my students. I offer a mix of Vinyasa Flow, yin and Pranayama in my classes, as a way to challenge and encourage that youthful playfulness, release pent-up stress and deep tissue tension, and to relax and calm the mind and body.

Pam took her first yoga class in 2001 when she was pregnant with her first child.  She attributes the breathing and relaxation techniques from her yoga practice for being able to have homebirths with her three children.  In 2011, she became a consistent student at Divine and quickly became a yoga junkie.  Her "day-job" since 2001 has been practicing as a pediatric and maternity chiropractor.  She's also certified in acupuncture.  In 2015, her passion for the human body and love of yoga led her to take the plunge and obtain her RYT200 training from Arpita Shah.  Teaching yoga is a fun addition to the crazy, busy life she loves with her hubby, Jud, and their three kids.

STEPHANIE READ, RPYT, CD(DONA), CCE, E-RYT200 since 1998 her focus of study has been on the healing and therapeutic aspects of yoga.

Stephanie has trained extensively in Prenatal Yoga and is certified as a Prenatal Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. She deepened her knowledge by training with the Academy of Certified Birth Educators and earned her Childbirth Educator certification as well as becoming a registered and certified Doula through Doulas of North America (DONA). She teaches mothers-to-be, through yoga asanas and pranayama, how to strengthen the body for labor, birth and motherhood as well as how to breathe and to deeply relax. Each prenatal class creates a positive, supportive and well-informed environment that gives all mothers the emotional boost and self-esteem they need for motherhood. Stephanie’s gentle style of teaching includes a focus on the connection of breath and body awareness, calmness in the mind and stimulation of the brain that activates confidence and compassion as well as the release of tension within the body. Her classes emphasize strengthening the muscles while bringing more flexibility into the body without overworking it. Her philosophy is to allow students to feel calm, peaceful, accepted and supported while enjoying a healing energy during their practice. She only asks that her students never take themselves too seriously, never push into pain or discomfort, and always remember to practice kindness and playfulness on their mat and in their daily lives.

My very first yoga class was shortly after my first daughter was born (9 yrs ago), and I only took a few classes.  After a six year hiatus from my introduction, I went to a class at 24 hour fitness here in Southlake.  After several months of a consistent practice, I needed more.  I found Divine and quickly  became a yoga addict.  My practice allows me to connect with my body in a way that nothing else has.  It encourages me to breathe and center.  My asana practice inspired me to learn more about the world of yoga and all of the benefits it has to offer.  After 2 1/2 years of a consistent practice, I took the next step for teacher training. I did the training for many reasons.  I wanted to learn more about this "lifestyle'", and wanted to be able to offer others a way to connect with themselves and have more peace within their lives.  As a forty year old mother of two, appreciating and honoring your body, having peace, and connecting with your authentic self is a challenging task.   The practice of yoga helps accomplish those things.

I'm a 200 hr RYT from Om Yoga Teacher Journey.My passion lies with the body specifically in anatomy and physiology. Also very important is the emphasis of the breath to create and enhance the mind body connection; thereby strengthening and creating new and old neurological pathways that are both muscular and psychological. I'm almost done my Bachelors of Science in Biology at TWU. From there I'll be applying to and attending school to be a Dr. of Osteopathy. Also completing and practicing in Ayurveda is a great way to start my path into the medical field of preventive health care where I wish to treat my clients and patients and their individual, root needs versus their surface symptoms or disease. I bring this knowledge that every single body is different with different needs that I wish to accommodate for to help each individual achieve a higher state of balance and comfort on their mat and in their everyday life. That being said there are yoga poses for everyone and yoga classes for everyone. I'm experienced in teaching Vinyasa, Hot, Hatha (flow), Gentle, Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra. And I love teaching and learning new ways to do it!

Chris Stewart

Chris was first introduced to yoga by her mother in 1998 as they attended a Kundalini Yoga class together. Due to limited class times and lack of child care she sought a way to practice yoga at home finding DVD’s. She liked prenatal yoga as a way to move through the constant changes in her body. Practicing on and off over the years she decided to add a yoga class in addition to the cardio and weight classes she was taking at a local gym. This led her to Divine Center of Yoga where she attended the Purple Lotus Yoga Teacher Training and received her 200-hr teaching certificate in 2012.
Chris has experience in teaching Gentle, Hatha, Hatha Flow, Chair/Adaptive and Restorative Yoga. She loves the connection she feels between the breath and the body while practicing but more importantly appreciates how yoga teaches her to love her body for what it can do TODAY. Each day she steps onto her mat is a lesson in humility, gratitude and inner peace. She loves that the bigger challenge is then to take those lessons off the mat and extend those qualities to all she interacts with.
Chris’ main focus in life is spending as much time as possible with her hard-working hubby Jeff and being mom to their four kids Zachrey, Kylee, Taylor & Christian as well their two dogs Daisy and Holly! Any time ‘leftover’ is spent deepening her home practice, reading, attending workshops, and then sharing her love and excitement of yoga with anyone who will listen! She recently studied and completed her Restorative Level 1 with Judith Hanson Lasater and is a registered Relax and Renew® Level 1 Trainer.
As if that doesn’t keep her busy enough, Chris will be attending college in Fall 2016 as she works on furthering her education of the human body and then pursuing her dream of following the therapeutic yoga path, merging both that of Yoga Teacher and Physical Therapist. She is thankful to be able to learn from and work alongside some of THE best yoga teachers. Raven has been in the spa industry since 1989 helping people feel better. She started her journey as a manicurist then continued by acquiring an aesthetician license and finally completing the trio in 2003 with a massage therapy certification (600 hrs) from Irene Gauthier, one of the most recognized massage therapist in the U.S. and founder of Irene's Myomassology Institute in Southfield, Michigan. In 2006 Raven visited Texas and fell in love with the warm hospitality. So in 2008 she made her way south. Here, she was granted a Texas Massage Therapy license, #MT106926.  Since Raven arrived in Texas 9 years ago, she has performed over 10,000 massage treatments, became a Texas Massage Therapy Instructor, #MI3065 , Continued Education Provider, #CE1801. She is passionate about sharing knowledge with students and clients to increase their physical awareness to relieve daily stress and  tension, and bring their bodies into better balance. 
Raven's belief in the human body's ability to maintain health and vitality inspired her to acquire her 200 hour yoga teacher certification from  Maggie Metzinger, ERYT, 500, so that she might further teach self care through the three main structures of Yoga: exercise, breathing, and meditation.
Inspiration also lead Raven to Master Leone and Master Campbell, 
Zen Wellness, Surprise, AZ to pursue the study of Medical Qi Gong. Rejuvenation of bio-energy or Chi is the main focus of their Medical Chi Gong program. The practice of Chi Gong teaches many benefits and is an important part of a total wellness program.
